The End

This is the end of my blogging for this class. However, this is not the end of my blogging. I will visit other classrooms in the future and use blogging. I love and appreciate everything I learned in my 310 class from Dr. Strange. Hat off to my future because of him!!!

What I learned In Class

There are so many things that I learned in Dr. Strange's 310 computer's class.

I had to start with no basic computer knowledge. With Dr. Strange's patience, and kindness, I was able to master the skills needed to complete the classwork assignments sucessfully. I now feel that I can master many skills on the computer and I now do not hesitate to go to a computer now to perform any task. I learned about blogging. I had not even heard of blogging before! I also learned how to do a web page. I still have to practice to learn more but I was able to learn the basic things needed to do a web page. The information I will use on my job is being able to use the computer to average a gradebook. I can also use all features on the computer. I am so glad I took Dr. Stranges's class. We need more teachers like him.

Patrick Henry & Guangxi University

Ms. Cpauchnick's class at Patrick Henry High have been learning about other cultures & traditions by joining students in the CZech Republic,France, Ukranine, Italy, Austria, Romania ,Germany, and China by blogging in and using the e-mail. She stated that blogging gave the students a chance to share summaries, examples of their work and learning and being an inspiration to the world. It seems to me this is a good reason why blogging should be used in schools today.

Blogging Goes Legit in School

School anyone??? Next fall,a handful of students at the University at Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism, will convene weekly to learn about blogging from John Betelle, a co-founder of Wired magazine. This professional reporter has become the First school to offer a class on the 21st century symbol of do-it-yourself journalism. Seems to me Dr. Stange beat him to the punch!!!

B;ogging in Canada

Guess What? Teachers are blogging in canada, too. Noble Kelly has an official page that she welcome all teachers to visit. It is called Teachers Without Boders-Canada. She and the Canadian educational community wants all teachers to join in a world-wide group of volunteers to close the gap that education divides. Being part of an international group of bloggers and persons who e-mails will draw the world together. Maybe we all should be a part of her group. For more information see TWB-Canada.

International Schools Blogs-Bangadesh

If you haven't visited the cite of Julie Lindsay, "International School", you might want to do so. Her slide show with a movie and motion was very interesting. She was aaable to use her blogger to show us some of the things during the day in the life of those who live in Bangladesh. I enjoyed this very much. Just one thing...Don't look at it when you are hungry. Their food looked so appealing. I just wanted to eat.

Honeymoon

This is a picture of my husband and I on our honeymoon. We took a cruise to the Bahamas.

Duke Digital Initiative

Great News!! The Duke Initiative (DDI) is a new multi-year program of experimemtation, development, and implementation of new and emerging technologies to explore use of technology in the university.

A growing number of schools are now using this new technology to explore new ways of assisting in instruction of students. Faculty and students are to use this portable, personal multimedia technology and digital course material to experiment with learning.

I am looking foward to the future to see if this will work. Maybe we all won't be hard of hearing!!

Use of Technology

I'm trying to remember some of Dr. Strange's comments on technology that he taught us in class. He said that unless you practice and continue to use technology, you cannot learn it or remember it. He was so right. Everything I was taught in his class about computer technology skills, I have, because of school, used the majority of the skills I learned. However, I want to remember the other things as well. So guess what I decided to do? I am going to practice the other skills at least once a month so I can remember "how to" when I really need them in my work. For example, The information on how format our computer to do a grade book. We take time to remember it now or struggle forever. We must choose. I chose to remember it now!! Have a great summer.......

HILLARY GIBSON hit the nail on the head! I am sick and tired of hearing about the same people over and over again, just like you. I think the majority of people are also. "AMERICAN IDOL" show is the only thing I like to keep up with each week. I glad it ends and give us a brake each season. We would get tired of it also.

The secret is out! Adrienne Brown of Spring '07 11:00 class of Dr Strange's 310 class did such an interesting blog. If you haven't checked it out, you must do so. I am looking foward to meeting her this summer when I take a P.E. class.

Hi Everybody,
I checked just about all of your web pages. I must say, I was very impressed with what you'll did. I learned so much. Dr Strange is such a great teacher. I enjoyed every second of my class. Hats off to Dr. Strange!! We all need to copy his example of being a teacher with patience, knowledge and the ability to share it with others.
